Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Data Engineer - SDE2 (Fulfillment) for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Poland. The team practices continuous integration, delivery, and support of the code through production and beyond. Based in their Kraków office, this multi-functional and specialist team will drive operational excellence of services, improve scale for the systems and processes globally and create business-leading capabilities.
It is a mixed work mode with some office presence expected, probably 2-3 times per month for teamwork and meetings, to help build teamwork and team spirit. There is an opportunity to stay with the project long-term if the candidate is interested in being hired directly by the client after a year or even less. We are looking for a savvy Data Engineer to join the growing team of analytics experts. The engineer will be responsible for expanding and optimizing the data and data pipeline architecture and data flow and collection for cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. The Data Engineer will support the client’s software developers, database architects, data analysts, and data scientists on data initiatives and ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams' systems and products. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing the company’s data architecture to support the next generation of products and data initiatives.
Requirements:
- Expertise in Hadoop Hive.
- Experience in any stream processing.
- Knowledge of Scala.
- Knowledge of Kafka.
- Understanding of basics of containerization/Kubernetes.
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of functional programming.
- Experience with Kafka Connect.
- Experience with Spark Streaming.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
- Assemble large complex data sets that meet functional /non-functional business requirements.
- Identify design and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes optimizing data delivery re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability etc.
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction transformation and loading data from various data sources.
- Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
- Work with stakeholders, including the Executive Product Data and Design teams, to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
- Keep the data separated and secure.
- Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing the product into an innovative industry leader.
- Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in the data systems.
