Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Data Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Poland. Our client is a USA-based global provider of software and data solutions for the automotive industry, specializing in connecting all participants across the vehicle parts and repair ecosystem. The company offers a suite of cloud-based tools for OEMs, dealerships, distributors, repair shops (collision and mechanical), insurers, fleets, and aftermarket suppliers. Their solutions cover parts marketing, procurement, inventory management, billing, claims, and more, enabling seamless transactions and efficient operations across the automotive supply chain. Today, they operate in more than 100 countries, connecting those involved in the vehicle parts and repair ecosystem and providing them with access to the network and data needed to transform the processes of selling, sourcing, leasing, managing, billing, and claims.

You will join the Core Catalogue Data Team.

Overlap till 7 pm CET. Location is Kraków or nearby, with the possibility to visit the office from time to time.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer with a strong focus on AWS services: S3, Lambda, Fargate, EC2, RDS, Dynamo, Redshift, Glue, IAM.
  • Understanding data modeling and a solid knowledge of ELT/ETL best practices.
  • Solid knowledge of Python.
  • Familiarity with data ingestion mechanisms such as APIs, SFTP, message queues, or streaming platforms.
  • Experience building event-driven systems and scalable, cloud-native data pipelines.
  • Care about data quality, testing, and graceful error handling.
  • Use observability tools to monitor logs, performance, and system health (e.g., CloudWatch or Datadog).

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage robust, scalable, and cloud-native ELT/ETL pipelines using AWS services (e.g., Glue, Lambda, Fargate, Redshift) to support the ingestion, transformation, and delivery of catalog data from diverse sources, such as APIs, SFTP, and message queues.
  • Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver efficient data solutions that support analytics and product development.
  • Apply testing, error handling, and utilize observability tools (such as CloudWatch and Datadog) to maintain data integrity and system health.
  • Design and optimize data models to support both analytical and operational use cases.
  • Operate and secure AWS resources (e.g., S3, EC2, RDS, IAM) to ensure reliable and efficient data workflows.
