Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Full Stack Engineer (with React, Typescript and Node.js) for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Argentina. Our client is a company that specializes in providing small commercial Excess and Surplus (E&S) insurance through an online platform. The company offers instant, bindable quotes for various types of coverage, including general liability, commercial property, commercial packages, excess casualty, and cyber liability. The company also offers software for insurance distribution, insurance underwriting, and accounting. They primarily serve sectors such as contractors, lessor's risk, vacant properties, restaurants, monoline property, manufacturing, and cyber for small to medium-sized businesses. It was founded in 2017 and is based in San Francisco, California. As a key team member, your role goes beyond task execution. You're vital for maintaining and improving the software systems. Your expertise is crucial for creating stable, high-performing solutions that adapt to changing needs. The teams are small enough to enable focus and often employ agile development practices to solve problems in complex real-world domains where the requirements may not yet be fully defined. Thus, the solutions should be resilient to change while being stable and performant. At the project, software engineers: Build and refine the software systems and architectures essential to front-end and back-end, focusing on independent project ownership. Share insights and input on project timelines and feasibility, helping to shape the Engineering team's roadmap. Collaboratively work across different team boundaries, addressing various technical challenges. Guide and support junior engineers, playing a key role in their development. Actively participate in the hiring process, from conducting interviews to influencing the structure of on-site sessions.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in dynamic software engineering teams, with a preference for those who have demonstrated rapid growth and adaptability.
  • Excellent hands-on experience with ReactJS.
  • Excellent hands-on experience with JavaScript/Typescript & Node.js.
  • Knowledge of SQL.
  • Knowledge of AWS.
  • A strong sense of user empathy and eagerness to delve into the complexities of the insurance industry, balanced with practical and analytical problem-solving skills. 
  • Proven expertise in developing distributed web services and an understanding of distributed systems' architecture.

Responsibilities:

  • Build user-centric services suitable for front and back-end integration, like data access and worker services.
  • Create top-tier code, tackling features and bugs across the tech stack while ensuring problem-solving capabilities.
  • Diligently review code to improve overall quality, spanning both front-end and back-end, facilitating team growth and expertise.
  • Enhance the entire team’s code quality, covering all aspects of the stack.
  • Contribute to the growth of the engineering team.
  • Implement monitoring at every stack layer for greater visibility and efficiency.
  • Ensure fast, consistent development without compromising quality.
  • Work with application teams to provide full-stack solutions that facilitate their goals and deliver customer value.

Will be a plus:

  •  
  • Excellent hands-on experience with Golang.
  •  
  • Knowledge of Material UI (MUI), or another component library.
  • Familiarity with AWS ECS, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK is beneficial.
  • Experience working in Healthcare/Insurance industry.
