Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with  AWS for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Ukraine. This position is for an engineer who wants to take location-data understanding to a new frontier, where it connects with real-world behavior. They are willing to build regression models, classification algorithms, data visualizations, and geospatial clustering within the location-data platform, which processes terabytes of data daily to generate the fundamentals of location-data products. The team combines billions of individual pieces of information into a comprehensive dataset of hundreds of millions of places in the US and Canada. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for deploying and maintaining cloud-based SaaS solutions. You will deploy, automate, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the systems that keep the backend infrastructure running smoothly. This role will also resolve incidents and issues in a 24/7 customer environment.

Requirements

  • BA/BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or related technical field.
  • 6+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer on large-scale commercial projects on the cloud.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS (EMR, VPC, IAM, EFS, EC2, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, WAF, SES, SNS, SQS).
  • Understanding of big data and data pipeline management.
  • Understanding scripting with Linux and Linux in an enterprise environment. 
  • Understanding scripting with Bash and Python.
  • Familiarity with XML, SQL, and different databases
  • Knowledge of automation with Ansible/Chef or any other SaaS tool, Terraform.
  • Knowledge of Luigi/ Rundeck or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with AWS/Network security.
  • Hands-on technical experience and a can-do approach towards environment automation /management and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in an Agile Scrum software development environment.
  • Good communication skills
  • At least an upper-intermediate level of English.

Nice to have

  • Experience with GCP is a huge plus
  • Experience with maintaining SaaS products is a huge plus
  • Experience with Java

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, automate, maintain, and manage AWS & GCP cloud-based development and production systems to ensure the availability, performance, scalability, and security of different environment systems.
  • Provide pre-production Acceptance Testing to help assure the quality of the SaaS products/services.
  • Suggest architecture improvements, recommending process improvements.  
  • Support system troubleshooting and problem-solving across platform and application domains.
  • Ensure critical system security using best-in-class cloud security solutions.
  • Participate in cross-team collaboration to understand and troubleshoot customer problems and provide resolution on time.
  • Provide ongoing support, monitoring, and maintenance of deployed products.
