TECHNICAL LEAD/FULL STACK ROR ENGINEER (with REACT)

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for Technical Lead/Full Stack RoR Engineer (with React) for a full-time position in Ukraine. Spanning the full range of litigation, contract lifecycle management and business enablement solutions, our client empowers law firms, corporations, professional services organizations and financial services institutions to deliver predictable outcomes allowing our clients to focus on what they do best. Current customer's application is built primarily in Ruby-on Rails with jQuery and some React/Redux. It is a robust, document-heavy application using a PostgreSQL database. OCR is built into our document pipeline. For search, they use Elastic Search.Their main application is cloud-based, hosted on Amazon AWS.

Requirements:

Skillset:

  • 5-10 years experience developing large-scale web-based applications and APIs;
  • 5+ years experience developing in Ruby-on-Rails;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Experience in working Ruby on Rails framework;
  • You have built a production level application with RoR;
  • Strong middleware experience;
  • Experience in Rest Web services;
  • Strong experience in CSS, Object-oriented Javascript, Jquery, Ajax, React.js;
  • Understanding of RDMS with an understanding of raw SQL statements, database constraints and indexing;
  • Strong experience in database SQL queries in Postgresql;
  • You have a basic understanding or would like to learn what Docker and Vagrant are (we use them in our development workflow);
  • You have interfaced with Elasticsearch or would like to learn;
  • You have knowledge of unit, integration and acceptance testing; what a mock and stub are.  We use RSpec and Capybara;
  • You can use Git with GitLab (branching, merging, pull requests);
  • You are not afraid to express your opinion in a professional manner.

Required:

A mature understanding and practice of Information Security and Data Privacy is required, practicing and certification in an Information Security Management System such as ISO27001:2013 will be beneficial. A secure SDLC approach will be taken to provide security assurance. Compliance with OWASP secure coding principles should be evident.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development of new features and maintain existing codebase as a strong individual contributor;
  • Understand requirements, understand existing features, design and architect solutions;
  • Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable RoR and Javascript code.

  • New features and enhancements;
  • Refactoring behavior into isolated bounded contexts;
  • Work closely with client-facing team to dissect features;
  • Manage your time and be responsible with minimal oversight;
  • We are always adapting our process to improve, and you will be have say and be heard.

  • Interest or have implemented Event Sourcing.
