Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in India. Our client is a cloud platform for business spend management (BSM) that helps organizations manage their spending, procurement, invoicing, expenses, and supplier relationships. They provide a unified, cloud-based spend management platform that connects hundreds of organizations representing the Americas, EMEA, and APAC with millions of suppliers globally. The platform provides greater visibility into and control over how companies spend money. Small, medium, and large customers have used the platform to bring billions of dollars in cumulative spending under management. The company offers a comprehensive platform that helps organizations manage their spending, procurement, invoicing, expenses, and supplier relationships. Founded in 2006 and headquartered in San Mateo, California, they aim to streamline and optimize business processes, driving efficiency and cost savings.

You will work with the team that moves the existing workloads from ECS and homegrown Kubernetes to the customized flavor of managed Kubernetes or on migrating the massive EC2 deployments into the managed Kubernetes environments. The team will also include DevOps and QA Engineers.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in software development.
  • Knowledge of Ruby with expertise in reading, analyzing, and debugging code.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS application development.
  • Understanding refactoring and tuning code for K8s services.
  • Understanding of high-throughput message queueing systems (Resque/SQS, etc.).
  • Experience providing estimates and implementing complex systems.
  • Proven understanding of software development best practices and design patterns.
  • Experience working in an agile environment that follows Scrum or other agile methodologies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of scalability, high availability, and concurrency.
  • A self-motivated, go-getter individual with a passion for learning and strong communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or similar) or equal experience.

Responsibilities

  • Be a hands-on contributor is a vital responsibility of this role.
  • Develop and scale the client’s platform systems and services.
  • Contribute to a key technology project to migrate an extensive Rails application or microservices into Kubernetes.
  • Migrate applications and services to the new APM solution
  • Participate in code reviews and demos.
  • Perform as a good team player who works and communicates well with others.
  • Advocate best practices (unit/automation testing, code reviews, code quality, etc.).
