Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Node/React Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Ukraine. Our client is a Pittsburgh-based B2B SaaS company reinventing transportation management with mission-critical enterprise software solutions that optimize efficiency, safety, and profitability.
They offer a cloud-based platform that enhances fleet management, route planning, and operational efficiency. The platform utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to automate and optimize daily fleet operations, improving real-time visibility and decision-making.
The software suite includes tools for route planning, dispatch, workflow, telematics, fleet management, and electronic logging devices (ELD), which serve over 300 leading transportation fleets, some with 1,000+ vehicles. With their powerful and intuitive cloud-based fleet management platform and mobile app, trucking fleets can improve operational efficiency, reduce risk, and increase profitability.
Tech stack on the project
- The backend architecture uses microservices developed in NodeJS and TypeScript.
- The technology stack includes MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, RabbitMQ, and AWS.
- The frontend is developed using React.
Position Overview
- Fullstack developer allocation: 60-70% backend and 40-30% frontend.
- Duration: 4-5 months with the possibility of extension.
- Spoken English is required.
- Daily Stand-ups at 5 PM Kyiv time. Overlap till 8 PM Kyiv time.
Requirements
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field.
- 5+ years of commercial experience in software development.
- 5+ years of experience with NodeJS/Typescript
- 1+ years of experience with React
- Strong coding skills in systems/application programming language.
- Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience MySQL/ DynamoDB/ Redis/ RabbitMQ
- Experience with AWS and cloud computing.
- Strong system design skills and experience with microservice architectures.
- At least an upper-intermediate level of English
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Resourceful team player who thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of logistics, transportation management, telematics or geospatial tech.
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive the technical direction of large portions of client’s backend and front-end systems including system design/architecture, implementation, and technical debt management.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to design, develop, document, and deploy robust, enterprise-grade products and software.
- Spread your knowledge by mentoring fellow engineers, assisting in design and code reviews, and advocating for best practices.
- Take ownership and participate in all steps of the development process, from design to release and support.
