Social Responsibility Report 2020
Providing free development courses for young people, sponsoring free education in software testing for individuals with physical disabilities, and covering the expenses of a new device that offers the world’s most advanced robot-assisted gait rehabilitation are several highlights from Svitla’s Corporate Social Responsibility Report.
We invite you to review the full report to learn about other social initiatives supported by Svitla Systems throughout 2020.
NODUS, SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CENTER OF NEUROREHABILITATION
Svitla Systems is an active supporter of the Neurological and Neurosurgical Rehabilitation Research Centre, also known as NODUS.
NODUS is the only clinic in Ukraine with end-to-end care for patients with central and peripheral nervous system impairment. It was specifically established for wounded Ukrainian soldiers, and in 2019, it completed 261 programs of neurorehabilitation for individuals. Of those, 12 gravely wounded soldiers were treated and underwent tailored rehabilitation.
In 2020, Svitla Systems participated in two initiatives.
The first one covered the restorative treatment and rehabilitation expenses of Elena Mosiychuk, a military doctor who saved hundreds of lives and was recognized as a “National Hero of Ukraine”.
- walking (gait) in a much shorter period of time;
- individual gait pattern, climbing stairs inclusive;
- walking, not just moving lower limbs.
Second, partly covered expenses of a new G-EO System, a device that provides the world’s most advanced robot-assisted gait rehabilitation with unique features to realistically simulate climbing stairs. This can be operated by one therapist only. With the use of this system, it is possible to restore
BEQA
BeQA Today is an educational center that provides free education in software testing to people with physical disabilities. Additionally, the program helps them obtain internships in Ukrainian IT companies or to find opportunities as freelance resources.
For several years, Svitla Systems has been a committed sponsor of this center and in 2020, we sponsored a new course that provided experiences as close as possible to real projects in terms of workload and processes. This course lasted 7 months and engaged almost 100 people.
As a result, 13 students received high-ranking diplomas and were further assisted in their search for first jobs and internships.
NATIONAL MILITARY MEDICAL CLINICAL CENTER
Svitla Systems supports the National Military Medical Center by helping them purchase protective equipment for doctors of departments centered around infectious diseases. With many more hospitals in need of essential protection for doctors, we welcome everyone who can join us on this initiative. We believe that together we will be able to help our doctors who are working relentlessly, nonstop, and who face the greatest risks.
SMART FUTURE
“Smart Future” is a charitable school that provides children of socially disadvantaged groups with free access to necessary modern knowledge. What started out in 2015 as a school to train 200 ATO veterans seeking new occupations, the current mission of “Smart Future” is to provide quality IT education and training courses to orphans, children with disabilities, children from multi-child families, and children of soldiers killed in service or with injury-related disabilities.
Svitla Systems joined the initiative in 2016 acting as patrons of several programs within “Smart Future.” The latest one was in 2020 of a new free web development course providing a basic understanding and skills in HTML, CSS, and website development for youngsters.
SVITLA RUNNING TEAM
Svitla Systems actively supports its teammates’ desire to lead a healthy and active life. We regularly cover their participation in a number of running events. Since 2020 has implied restrictions for people gatherings, we began to take part in Online Running marathons.
For example, over 30 Svitla employees took part in Kyiv Online HalfMarathon in September, where our teammates showed their best results in various distances from 4 to 21 km! By using a specially developed application, participants could choose a time and place for their round, and the App screened their running data and configured the place in the group. All participants were shipped a special box with medals, snacks, and other small tasty goods.
The next in line Wizz Air Kyiv City Marathon Online takes place on 31 October - 1 November, and for sure our team takes part.
