School #7 in Boryslav

Few people are aware that Svitla Systems’ CEO and Founder Nataliya Anon comes from a small city in western Ukraine – Boryslav. Nataliya attended for 10 years Boryslav school #7; the school provided her with the first-rate education, which prepared her well for later on studying at the University of Kansas and Stanford. Nataliya was happy to give back to her school by sending financial assistance to restore the old school building and its grounds.

For two years in a row, Nataliya has been supporting School #7’s renovation projects. The first one coincided with the 45th anniversary of the school and addressed restoration of the entry grounds and children’s bathrooms. The second one focused on the cafeteria, its interior and new windows.

Sponsors, local authorities, parents, and children (who collected various recyclables to add to the initiative) together paid up for the cost of restoration. For each donation,  children promised to plant a tree as a thank you for supporters’ help and in order to redeem the harm done to Carpathian forests by illegal deforestation. As a result, 2500 new fir trees were planted, each dedicated to a particular person or organization. One of them has been dedicated to Nataliya Anon.
