Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Data Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Bulgaria. Our client is a global financial services provider established in Bermuda in 2003. With 85 offices in 50 countries worldwide upon the close of announced acquisitions, they deliver an extensive range of services to asset managers, capital markets, private clients, and family offices. The company has continually improved and evolved its capabilities to offer a single-source solution by establishing the broadest range of services in the industry, including fund services, digital onboarding and bank accounts, depositary, custody and super ManCo services, business services, including HR and Payroll and a pioneering ESG Ratings and advisory service for private companies. 

You will design, build, and maintain the data pipeline infrastructure and workflows, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the data pipeline solutions.

The position is for a 6-month contract, with the possibility of prolongation.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering or data pipeline development.
  • Experience with Apache Airflow.
  • Knowledge of Python.
  • Knowledge of MySQL.
  • Knowledge of Сosmos DB.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure.
  • Understanding with cloud-based data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake).
  • Understanding ETL processes and data warehousing concepts (e.g., dimensional modeling, star schema, data vault v2).
  • Familiarity with data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Apache Flink).
  • Familiarity with change data capture technologies (e.g., Fivetran).
  • Strong knowledge of Git, i.e., PRs, Branching, Forking, Rebasing, etc.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to understand requirements and optimize access.
  • Document data pipelines, processes, and best practices.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance and reliability.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the pipeline lifecycle.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and big data technologies.
