The Opportunity:

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Cloud Architect for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Colombia. Our client is a global multinational professional services company originating in the United States and headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, that specializes in information technology (IT) services and management consulting. They deliver IT services, including system integration and application development, offer business process outsourcing and managed services, provide digital transformation in manufacturing and engineering, and enhance customer experiences through creative and marketing services. The company provides services in over 120 countries to clients in various industries, including communications, media and technology, financial services, health and public service, consumer products, and resources.

This role will focus on creating requirements for modernizing the Learning Management System (LMS). The team plans to revamp the LMS/LCMS/Course Player over the next 2 years, and you will help shape the vision for these systems. 

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in architecture for large-scale enterprise solutions, working with IT operations, infrastructure architecture, or cloud computing.
  • At least 3 years of experience with cloud architecture, specifically in Azure, with an understanding of conceptualizing ideas, evaluating options, presenting solutions, and implementing the selected approach. 
  • Hands-on experience with Azure regarding configuration, sizing, performance, etc.  (cloud certifications are highly desirable).
  • Understanding of architecting hosting infrastructure, including Enterprise networking, servers, firewalls, load balancers, IP connectivity, and SAN Storage.
  • Solid knowledge of PaaS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Serverless. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to write and defend technical business proposals. 
  • Self-reliant individual who can take initiative to get things done without relying on others for minimal guidance. 
  • A mindset of continuous innovation, continuous learning, and improvement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, related field, or equivalent work experience. 
  • Be available during AMS business hours (for example, 8 AM – 5 PM EST).

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure architectures meet security and compliance standards, including identity management, encryption, and data protection.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Act in a consultative role for the IT datacenter and cloud team, working directly with client markets and technical counterparts to identify specific requirements and design custom solutions within the IT service offering portfolio to meet functional requirements.
  • Drive platform innovation and exploit automation.
  • Conduct upgrades, improvement initiatives, and innovation proposals for the IT platforms area.
  • Coordinate the delivery of the designed and purchased solution to the client markets, ensuring that those meet Digital Asset Hosting standards and transition the solution to the sustain and operational teams.
  • Support the client markets in designing solutions from IT suppliers in a managed competition environment, following the latest technology trends and the RFQ/RFP process in the best interest of the company.
  • Define operational requirements and gaps for new and existing solutions.
  • Collaborate with project management in the infrastructure area and the suppliers, as IT teams, to eliminate root causes/escalations.
