Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Kraków, Poland. Our client is one of the world’s largest food retailers, operating thousands of stores across the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Europe. The company conducts business through multi-format stores and online platforms. It operates stores in various formats, differentiated by size and the range of products sold, including large, small, dot-com only, and one-stop. They offer a wide range of products, including fresh food, drinks, bakery items, groceries, home and entertainment products, baby products, clothing, household appliances, frozen food, pets, health and beauty products, consumer electronics, and electrical goods. It also provides consultancy, retail banking, and insurance services. The company was founded in 1919 and is headquartered in Welwyn Garden City, the UK.
The company is building a next-generation platform of continuous integration and delivery tools for the teams across the company. Leveraging tools and services like Kubernetes, Helm, Grafana, Argo CD, Azure Cloud, GitOps, and others, you will be responsible for the success of many other talented engineers on their journey to deliver high-quality, performant applications. You’ll be part of an agile team of industry-leading TypeScript engineers.
The team’s manager requires his team members to be ready and available for office work in Krakow 3 times a week, if and when they are told to work at the office during occasional high workload periods. However, on average, only 1 day a week is sufficient.
Requirements
- 4+ years of commercial experience in development with JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Understanding of running and supporting software in production (DevOps approach).
- Knowledge of React and the Reactive approach.
- Knowledge of Node.js and Express.js
- Experience with GitOps.
- Understanding of micro-frontend architecture
- Experience with CI/CD configuration.
- Expertise in testing (e.g., unit tests, e2e tests).
- Knowledge of Azure or experience with AWS, GCP, and other clouds.
- Understanding of designing and developing systems for high availability and scalability.
- Experience working within an e-commerce or at-scale business where security, availability, and reliability are valued.
- Depth of professional software engineering experience and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Be comfortable designing systems and reasoning about them. The ability to take a thorough and logical approach to solving them, and you retain ownership through to resolution.
- Problem-solving, analysis, and computational skills.
- Strong written & spoken skills in English.
