Svitla Systems has recently launched in Australia, embarking on a new journey of expansion into the APAC region. This expansion comes with new challenges and a leadership team. We talked with Nataliya Anon, Svitla Systems CEO, about the company’s future, staying resilient in the ever-changing business environment, and more – read on!
– Svitla Systems has recently entered the Australian market with a new office in Melbourne and regional leadership. What key factors drove this decision?
We think Australia is a natural next step in our international expansion. There’s perfect alignment between what we offer – high-quality software development services backed by global talent – and what the Australian market increasingly needs: tech expertise and global delivery capacity.
– What makes Australia a strategic location for Svitla’s international growth?
Expansion to this region seemed natural, the next big step. Australia has a mature, tech-savvy market of established, international companies we can tap into. Besides, we have a few competitive advantages to offer. For example, Australia’s time zone overlaps with our delivery centers in Eastern Europe and India, and its proximity to Southeast Asia opens additional doors for growth. So, from a client’s perspective, we can bring global delivery value while offering local engagement and responsiveness.
– How will the new branch operate and what role will it play within the broader Svitla ecosystem?
Our Australia branch will serve as both a business development and client engagement hub, with a primary focus on Sydney. Our sales and business development teams will collaborate closely with our global delivery centers to provide outstaffing, product development, and digital transformation solutions.
Essentially, we aim to bring the same level of service excellence that we have established in North America and Europe, while adapting to local market dynamics. Over time, the Australian team will play a vital role in expanding our presence in the APAC region.
Andre Koot, Executive Vice President in the APAC region, will lead the Australian branch – he’s a terrific addition to our team who has substantial experience with business advising and scaling operations.
– What does success look like for Svitla Systems in Australia over the next one to two years?
I’d say it’s building a strong and credible brand presence along with strong partnerships to demonstrate our capabilities. Also, we view Australia as a first step for expanding our presence in the APAC region, either by opening new delivery centers or pursuing strategic acquisitions. So, basically, if we’re recognized as a reliable, agile, and forward-thinking partner to Australia’s tech leaders, we’ll consider that a significant achievement.
– The IT services industry is in a turbulent mode now, with all the economic shifts, rapid rise of AI, etc. Yet, Svitla Systems continues to grow and expand internationally. So, what factors have contributed to Svitla's success, and how will they influence this next chapter?
Three things come to mind: our ability to build trust, our exceptional talent pool – like software engineers with PhD degrees and unique awards like AWS Golden Jacket, and our long-term commitment to client success.
I think because we’ve never tried to be the largest IT vendor in the market and focused on being the most responsive and adaptable instead, it worked to our advantage. In Australia, we bring the same proven approach – staying agile, listening closely to client needs, and focusing on value.
– What message would you like to share with Australian businesses considering tech partnerships?
I can say from my experience that even the most innovative businesses could fall behind if they fail to address talent gaps early on. So, you have to act fast. That’s when Svitla could be a game changer. We’ve been helping global tech leaders like Logitech and Amazon to evolve and succeed for years – augmenting their in-house teams on demand, consulting, and bringing unique skills they won’t find locally.
Our clients rely on us to move forward, and we see similar opportunities for Australian businesses. Innovation happens faster when you have the right partners, and Svitla is just that kind of company.
