Svitla Systems and Cloudera Partner to Establish Responsible AI in Regulated Industries

Svitla Systems and Cloudera have announced a strategic partnership to help organisations in highly regulated industries build trusted data foundations for secure, production-ready AI. The collaboration will be formally launched at Australia Healthcare Week 2026, with both companies participating with a shared on-site presence.

As AI adoption accelerates, many organisations are facing a hard reality. AI initiatives often stall or fail not because of model limitations, but because underlying data is fragmented, poorly governed, and distributed across complex hybrid environments spanning cloud, on-premise, and legacy systems.

Data readiness is not a binary state; organisations don’t need to wait until all data is fully prepared before pursuing AI. In practice, effective AI adoption follows a linear data and AI roadmap, where governed, structured datasets become available incrementally. As data reaches readiness, AI capabilities can be built on top of it, enabling organisations to create value incrementally. The partnership between Svitla Systems and Cloudera aims to address these challenges by enabling organizations to build secure, well-governed data environments that support scalable AI deployments while meeting strict regulatory and compliance requirements.

In regulated industries such as healthcare, these challenges are significantly amplified. Sensitive data, strict compliance requirements, and audit obligations mean that uncontrolled AI adoption introduces operational, security, and compliance risks rather than measurable value.

"Many organisations talk about being ‘AI-first’, but AI only delivers value when it’s built on secure, governed and trusted data,” said Andre Koot, Executive Vice President, APAC at Svitla Systems. “As privacy, data sovereignty, and AI governance expectations continue to rise across all industries, organisations need the ability to scale AI without losing control of their data. Cloudera’s hybrid data platform, enterprise-grade security, and end-to-end data lineage provide the foundation for Private AI, while Svitla brings the software, data, and cloud engineering needed to operationalise AI safely and deliver measurable ROI."

The partnership between Svitla Systems and Cloudera is built around a practical, enterprise-ready model for responsible AI. Rather than promoting monolithic AI systems with broad data access, the approach prioritises governed data foundations, controlled access, and production-grade deployment suited to regulated environments. This model enables organisations to move beyond experimentation and bring AI safely into production.

Cloudera’s Role: The Data Foundation

Cloudera serves as the core data and AI platform within the partnership, providing an enterprise-grade solution for large-scale, regulated environments. Built for industrial-scale operations, Cloudera supports petabyte-scale data volumes and complex enterprise workloads.

"For ANZ healthcare organisations, the critical challenge is adopting AI while managing sensitive patient data across complex, legacy infrastructures. As the only data and AI platform company that brings AI to data, regardless of where it resides, Cloudera solves the data sovereignty dilemma while preventing vendor lock-in. By combining this trusted foundation with Svitla’s expertise in modernising legacy systems, this partnership enables healthcare providers to enforce rigorous governance and audit controls, ensuring data stays secure and compliant even as they accelerate deployment of responsible, production-grade AI,” said Vinicius Cardoso, Chief Technology Officer, Cloudera Australia and New Zealand.

Svitla Systems’ Role: Engineering and Execution

Svitla Systems delivers the engineering, architecture, and execution layer on top of the Cloudera platform. It designs enterprise-grade data architectures and builds AI-ready data platforms that turn governed data into reliable, usable inputs for AI, enabling organisations to move from data readiness to AI systems that can operate in production environments.

A key part of this role involves modernising legacy software systems so data can be extracted, structured, and governed without disrupting existing operations, a common challenge in healthcare and other regulated industries.

Rather than treating data readiness as a one-time gate, Svitla applies a phased engineering approach that aligns AI development directly with the organisation’s data roadmap and introduces AI capabilities incrementally.

AI-enabled solutions are delivered end-to-end, spanning data platforms, cloud architecture, software engineering, and AI implementation. Rather than being run as isolated experiments, AI is integrated directly into real systems and workflows, connecting software, data, cloud, and AI into a single delivery model.

With clearly defined responsibilities, Cloudera provides a secure data platform, and Svitla Systems designs and operationalises AI-enabled applications. Organizations can confidently move AI out of pilots and into secure, scalable production.
